Home Hardware puts
its stamp on Canada.

In 2004, a new Canadian stamp recognized the
40th anniversary of Home Hardware. Ninety
thousand Official First Day Covers of the Home
Hardware commemorative stamp were released.
Each of those stamps has a April 19, 2004
cancellation date, using a custom commemorative
postmark showing that the stamp was issued
at St. Jacobs, Ontario, the town in which Home
Hardware began in 1964. In all, eight million
Home Hardware stamps will be printed.

The Home Hardware stamp is only the fifth
commercial commemorative stamp to be issued
by Canada Post since the practice began in 1994.
It is also the only commercial commemorative
stamp scheduled for release in 2004.

“ Being recognized with a postage stamp is a
tremendous honour,” says Paul Straus, Vice
President and Chief Executive Officer of Home
Hardware Stores Limited. “Millions of people in
Canada and all over the world will see this image
and have a deeper understanding of how
distinctively Canadian Home Hardware is.
It’s amazing the power that such a small, simple
piece of paper can have.”

Pick up your commemorative Home Hardware stamps at any Home Hardware, Home Hardware Building Centre, Home Building Centre or Home Furniture location, as well as all Canada Post outlets across Canada. Available April 19, 2004.

Home Hardware is one of the largest wholly
Canadian retail chains in Canada. With more
than 1,000 independently owned and operated
locations, Home stores can be found in communities in every province and territory. Most
Canadians are already highly familiar with Home
Hardware. The issuance of the Home Hardware
commercial commemorative stamp will spread
the word even further.
