LIGHTING
PANELS |
|
For maximum brightness, use one 40
fluorescent fixture
per 8 square feet of ceiling.
For medium
brightness, use one per 16 square feet.
For minimum brightness, use one per 24 square feet. |
PAINTING |
| Using a primer first can save you money and headaches.
A primer will help smooth and seal the surface for better paint adhesion. It will also
give you truer colour and you'll use less paint if you paint over with a like shade of
primer. |
KITCHENS
& BATHS |
| Stainless steel sinks are the choice of professional
cooks. Because stainless is non-porous, it does not trap bacteria and it's easy to clean
or disinfect. It's virtually indestructible and you'll never have to worry about chipping,
cracking or discoloration. Acrylic, enamelled steel and ABS
sinks are quieter than stainless steel and they're a decorator's dream because they come
in a wide variety of colours to match any style of kitchen or bar. |
CENTRAL
VAC |
| "Water Lift" is an industry-wide technical
standard that defines the strength of suction. It measures how high (in inches) a vacuum
can lift a column of water. The higher the number, the more powerful the vacuum. NOTE: Never
vacuum water with a central vac system. |
HOW TO USE
A PAINTBRUSH |
| Select the right brush for the type of paint you're
using - synthetic bristles for latex, natural for oil-based. Use a brush for detail work
such as painting around woodwork, windows, in corners and at the top and bottom of walls.
Dip a third of the bristles into the paint and remove the excess by tapping, not wiping,
the bristles against the rim of the paint can. Use short strokes to apply the paint. |
| HOW TO USE A
ROLLER |
| Use a large roller to cover walls quickly and a trim
roller for woodwork and cabinets. Load roller evenly with paint from a tray and be sure to
saturate the nap. Using mild pressure, layer the paint on the surface in two directions.
Always start in an uncoated spot and roll towards a painted area. For walls, roll a big
"M" or "N" and fill in with crosswise strokes. Once the paint dries,
the surface should appear uniformly even. Run the roller over the edges you painted with a
brush to smooth out the texture. This works best when painted edges are still wet. |

BUILDINGS |
| Erect your livestock shelter on a well drained knoll
or rise, facing south to benefit from spring sunrise. |
